UCG is awarded a major contract to facilitate a FTTH network for the Sanctuary Cove community. - 27/03/2009

Universal Communications Group has been awarded with Silcar Communications, the construction contract for the Sanctuary Cove FTTH project.  UCG has also been awared the 5+5 year network management and maintenance contract for the network.

Sanctuary Cove is both an existing and green field development on the Gold Coast, with over 1000 homes already built and more than 700 homes yet to be developed. UCG rose to the challenges set by Sanctuary Cove which included, high network availiability to cater for the stringent security requirements, demanded by the residents of Sanctuary Cove and an expectation of superior services for telephony and broadband services. 

One of the key elements for Sanctuary Cove was to ensure an "open access network" regime was adhered to, in order to deliver the Snctuary Cove residents, choice of service providers. UCG worked with Santuary Cove to design a network and an operating model that meets all of these demanding requirements.
