Universal Communications Group is Australian owned and one of Australia’s leading suppliers of a wide range of telecommunication services, with a long pedigree that dates back to the introduction Subscription Television to Australia in 1995. For over 10 years and recently as a 50% partner in the Downer EDi Engineering - Universal Communications Group Joint Venture, it has provided innovative solutions for a broad range of telecommunication activities including satellite systems (VSAT, TVRO), microwave antenna, wireless broadband system, coaxial and optical fibre networks.

A fundamental element and belief that is incorporated in all UCG delivered projects, is that all users of our networks must have choice. All service providers, including UCG’s own retail branded services under the banner of “Open Access Networks” (OAN), exist on the network on a level playing field.

Our market research highlights the need to provide choice. Residents and users of communications networks have indicated discontent with being forced to utilise a single monopoly service provider, which is the norm for residential community networks.

Some of our projects include:

Exclusive national contract and delivery partner to Austar for installation and maintenance services, with the successful delivery of over 1,200 TOW per day. This business was sold and the purchaser is still currently the incumbent delivery partner to Austar.
Installation and maintenance of QAM Coax network to the prestigious Eureka Tower in Melbourne delivering Foxtel, SelecTV, Digital FTA television and other niche PayTV services.
Installation, maintenance and content delivery via a FTTH network to Brentwood Retirement Village in the NSW central coast.
Construction and Operations & Maintenance contract for the delivery of a triple play FTTH network to the Sanctuary Cove Resort on the Gold Coast. This fibre network delivers FTA and PayTV, Broadband and Telephony services, with over 1,000 brown fields and 700 green fields customers. This project includes customer and technical support, billing and NOC services and 24/7 onsite maintenance of the network for a 5 plus 5 year period.
